Hello, I’m Alana

I’m a product designer with a passion for problem solving and critical thinking for creative solutions. I enjoy using my skills to create thoughtful, purposeful designs that connects people to their belongings, the planet and possibility. Inspired by the outdoors and grounded in a love for nature, I’m especially drawn to projects that explore sustainability, social impact, and community.

Currently in the final stages of my design degree, I’m open to discovering where design can take me — whether that’s designing for circular systems, developing products that improve everyday life, or contributing to something bigger than myself. I believe good design is not just beautiful or functional — it’s responsible, inclusive, and impactful.

I thrive in creative, collaborative environments and love turning ideas into tangible solutions. As I begin my career in design, I’m excited to keep learning, keep exploring, and design with purpose.

Passions and Interests

Inspired by my own mothers creativity and my father's engineering expertise, I'm passionate about tackling design challenges with creative solutions. I have always been a creative person, making new fun things from different materials like cardboard, paper and fabric.  Having a passion for lifelong learning, I believe there is always something more to learn from new experiences. Whether it be exploring my passions for nature, hiking, jewellery making or reading, I use these interests to expand my knowledge and fulfilment in my work.

Career and Life Goals

Currently, I'm looking to explore where design can take me through work in a design studio. I hope to gain hands on experience learning more about design and to expand my skills and abilities. In future, I hope to extend my work outside of Australia by living and working overseas where I can gain new perspectives on what design is and what it can become, before exploring design research in sustainability.
